Industry Day

6th Annual Industry Day draws 1,000 students

The roar of heavy machinery, the precision of skilled trades, and the energy of emerging technology filled the air on Thursday, October 8, as Springdale Public Schools hosted its 6th Annual Industry Day at the Venture Career Center on the Don Tyson School of Innovation campus.

Building on the success of past events, Industry Day once again brought together around 1,000 high school students from 12 Northwest Arkansas districts for a hands-on, immersive look into high-demand careers across the region. The east side of the campus was transformed into an interactive career fair, where students connected face-to-face with representatives from dozens of local companies, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world employment pipelines.

The annual success of Industry Day hinges on the strong backing of the Northwest Arkansas business community. This year’s event featured a wide array of premier regional employers across multiple vital sectors:

  • Construction & Contracting: ARMI Contractors, Baldwin & Shell, Brittenum Construction, Clark Contractors, Emery Sapp & Sons, Kimbel Mechanical, and Marrs Electric

  • Equipment, Freight & Heavy Machinery: Doggett Freightliner, Hugg & Hall, Riggs CAT, and United Rentals

  • Utilities & Public Services: Beaver Water District, Carroll Electric, Ozarks Electric & OzarksGo, Rogers Water, Springdale Water Utilities, Trailblazers, and VSC Fire and Security

  • Engineering, Steel & Manufacturing: Bekaert, Building and Earth, EMA Engineering & Consulting, Inc., George's, and NWA Steel

  • Trades, Services & Training: BIT (Business and Industry Training), Bud Anderson, Tommy Myers, and other local industry leaders

Throughout the day, these industry experts shared insights into their careers, showcased cutting-edge equipment, and highlighted clear, lucrative pathways from high school directly into rewarding technical fields.
