CTE Medical Job Fair

Springdale School District hosted a Job Fair at Don Tyson School of Innovation (DTSOI) on April 10th. Seventeen healthcare providers conducted over 250 interviews. Each high school offers the Medical Skills and Services program of study. The Venture Career Center provides a Pre Nursing, Emergency Medical Technician, and Emergency Medical Responder pathway available to any student in Northwest Arkansas.

There were 106 high school senior medical students who developed resumes, prepped for interview questions and participated in the event. Special thanks to the local healthcare businesses that provided job opportunities for students: Advanced Skin and Dermatology, Arkansas Army National Guard, Brightstar Care, Community Blood Center, Community Clinic, Harp's Pharmacy, Mercy, Northwest Health, Pinnacle In-Home Health, Shiloh Health & Rehab, Springdale Fire Department, The Maples at Har-Ber Meadows, UAMS, Washington Regional, and Westwood Health and Rehab.

Work-Based Learning Coordinators that organized the event included Mattie Still, DTSOI; April Reed and Karma Weiss, SHS; and Crystal Smith, HBHS . These instructors support students with job placements that match with the students' skills and interests.

Students who received a healthcare job will be honored at the District Signing Day on May 1, 2025 in the SHS Arena at 9 am.
