Mission

Our mission as elementary school counselors is to help every student G.R.O.W. by fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that nurtures academic, career, social, and emotional development through strong partnerships with educators, families, and community.

Some of the roles of an elementary school counselor include:

  • Developing and implementing school-wide programs that promote student success and well-being

  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic and personal growth

  • Teaching intentional lessons to help students develop skills such as: understanding others, interacting with others effectively, conflict resolution, exploring career options, and making responsible decisions. 

  • Supporting school administration in teaching appropriate behavior skills and developing a plan to respond with interventions.

  • Providing information and resources to help students and families address a variety of concerns, such as mental health and wellness, food insecurity, and economic hardship.
