Jake Beers has been selected to be the Lead Elementary Instructional Specialist at the Springdale Public Schools Professional Development Center.
Beers comes to the district position after serving for five years as the Jones Elementary School assistant principal.
“It is bittersweet to leave my school community at Jones, but I am excited to return to the curriculum and instruction department for Springdale Schools,” Beers said.
Beers has been an educator for 17 years, eight of which have been with Springdale Schools.
“We are excited for Mr. Beers’ knowledge in leadership, curriculum and instruction to support the excellent work of our elementary schools,” said Dr. Marcia Smith, Springdale Public Schools deputy superintendent.
Beers said he’ll strive to support the instruction specialist team as they work to accomplish each school’s goals and priorities, adding he’ll collaborate with staff to provide high-quality instructional materials and professional learning.
Beers holds a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Huntington University in Huntington, Ind., and a master’s in educational leadership from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
He’s married to Sarah Beers, an educator in Fayetteville. They have two children, Finnley, a fifth-grader, and, Emma, a third-grader.
The family enjoys cycling and spending time on the lake with families and friends in their free time.
