The Community Creative Center is featuring works by Springdale Public Schools student artists in The McCoy Gallery throughout April.
A public reception will be offered Wednesday, April 20, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the center at 505 W. Spring St. in Fayetteville.
The exhibition highlights the broad and varied creative works being produced within the Springdale and Har-Ber high school Visual Art programs.
The goal of the exhibition is to showcase the extensive range and varied perspectives of students and their artistic ideas through the artwork they’ve produced over the past year.
More than 80 works are on display, each of which are representative of the immense creativity and talent present within each of the schools’ art programs.
The presented pieces are from a variety of classes, including Advanced Placement Art and Design, Painting 1 and 2 and Drawing. Works have been grouped either thematically or by class type, highlighting what individual students are creating and how groups of students are conceptualizing and actively making art projects within particular classes.
Some featured works are representative of sustained investigations students have centered work around this year, while others include pieces based on a particular prompt or methodology of art making.
