Community Leaders...we need you! The 2020 Census launches on March 12th. In preparation for the Census the Springdale Schools Communications office is producing a commercial to motivate and encourage all Springdale Residents to participate in the Census.
The focus of the commercial will be positive, inclusive and showcase Pride in our Great City
Christina Lisle, a kindergarten teacher at Shaw Elementary, is the latest winner of the Taking ROOTS award. "Mrs. Lisle is an example of leadership on her grade level team and at Shaw, by sharing her learning and teaching strategies with her colleagues. Kim Brown, a teacher at the Archer Learning Center, is the February winner of the KNWA-Post Cereal Golden Apple Award! She was surprised in the classroom by representatives of Post and KNWA. Stephanie Wilbanks, a first grade teacher at Young Elementary, is a Taking ROOTS Award winner. It recognizes and thanks teachers who are role models in the science of reading, teaching and learning. Presenting the award is Assistant Superintendent Maribel Childress. Stephanie was nominated by teacher Kaci Phipps because "Stephanie always welcomes other educators into her classroom to provide feedback on her teaching. For Sandy, a student came back after they had graduated to tell Sandy that she saved her life and find lifelong friends through counseling. Eric says, "Knowing that that in a small way, we are a part of implementing a positive change within our classroom, students, teachers, and families is so rewarding."
