Randy Osnes began serving July 1 as the Har-Ber High School head softball coach.
"I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to be the head softball coach at Har-Ber High School," Osnes said.
The coach brings a strong passion for the game, a wealth of coaching experience, a championship perspective and a dedication to the development and success of the softball team to Har-Ber.
Coach Osnes has had an impressive coaching record throughout his 25-year career at Farmington High School. His record includes three state championships, six state runner-up titles and 21 conference championships.
"His expertise and knowledge of the game will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and achievement of our student athletes," said Keith Fimple, Springdale Public Schools athletics director. "Coach Osnes possess a deep understanding of the technical aspects of softball, but will also prioritize fostering a positive team culture, emphasizing sportsmanship and promoting academic excellence."
Osnes is a phenomenal coach and mentor to his players who will lead HBHS softball to new heights, said Dr. Jared Cleveland, Springdale Public Schools superintendent.
"Coach Osnes is a unicorn in the softball world. His character and passion to develop young people in the sport of softball and life is unparalleled," Cleveland said. "He is known for building strong and trusting relationships with students, players, faculty, coaches and with the community."
Along with his numerous on the field accomplishments, Osnes was named the NFHS state and national coach of the year in 2018.
