Fourth grade students during soft starts first thing in the morning designed to grow innovative thinking through problem solving, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. #THEChoice #Launchintolearning

Mrs. Keen’s 4th grade students are learning fractions using hands-on manipulates like play dough and chocolate. What a fun and engaging way to learn math! #THEChoice #Launchintolearning

Making catapults in the after school STEM class. Teams have to work collaboratively, to be problem-solvers, be creative, and to think critically. Our students get to design, fail, and try again to learn to be risk-takers to support our innovative and engaging learning. #THEChoice #Launchintolearning (literally 😁)

Mrs. Wynn’s Kindergarten Weather Watchers! They learned about how and why we explore the weather. They observed and drew the weather outside. They will return to this topic throughout the year as the weather conditions change! #THEChoice #Launchintolearning

Multi-sensory learning in Kindergarten! We are making letters with finger lights and lots of fun ways! ❤❤❤

Today is National Custodian Day. We are so grateful for our wonderful custodians who come to school everyday to help make a positive difference for our students!

Fifth graders at Tyson Elementary School learned about the ecosystem at Lake Fayetteville. They went on a hike where they saw various producers and consumers. The beautiful Blue Heron was out for all to see as well as two large copperhead snakes! Watch your step! They looked for evidence of humans as well. The students got to use dip nets to collect organisms from the creek. Once back at the science center, students took turns using a plankton skimming net to collect microscopic organisms from the lake water. They then Identified various phytoplankton as well as zooplankton. 🤓

Mrs. Guzman and Mrs. Pruitt led an optional professional learning session on interactive and shared writing for other teachers. This is another reason we love our school. #THEChoice #launchintolearning
