Cassie Marquette, who has served at J.O. Kelly Middle School for the past eight years, has been named assistant principal at Monitor Elementary. She replaces Andi Acuff, who was elevated to principal at the school.
Marquette taught sixth grade math for three years before serving as math and science instructional facilitator for the past five years. She has worked in public education for 12 years.
“I would like to thank Dr. (Superintendent Jim) Rollins, his administrative leadership team and the school board for the opportunity to step into the role of assistant principal at Monitor Elementary,” Marquette said. “I have heard wonderful things about the staff at Monitor and I am excited to work with its teachers and students in the next steps of innovative learning.
“I would also like to thank Sara Ford, Sara Reeves and Mendi Hayter for investing in me and modeling exceptional leadership during my years at J.O. Kelly Middle School. I am thankful for the tradition of excellence in the Springdale School District and am honored to be part of such a talented and dedicated team.”
Marquette is a LEAD21 Walton Leader Scholar with an educational leadership degree from Arkansas Tech. Her husband, Michael, teaches sixth grade social studies at the Don Tyson School of Innovation.
“Mrs. Marquette is an established and respected education leader within the Springdale School District,” said Rollins. “She is vested in supporting teachers in the delivery of quality instruction on a daily basis in her role as an instructional facilitator. She is focused, extremely well prepared and very forward thinking in what educational excellence can become in the future. We are very excited about the contribution Mrs. Marquette will make to the great staff at Monitor Elementary School.”
