Hello! My name is AnnaLisa Donald and I will be teaching 5th grade at Monitor Elementary this coming school year! I live in Bentonville with my daughter, Alayia. I love teaching, being outside, spending time with family and the Razorbacks. I have taught 5th grade for two years and this will be my third year teaching 5th grade. Hello! My name is Lauren McGrath and I am very excited to be teaching 1st grade at Monitor Elementary this year. I recently moved back to AR from Washington D.C. to be closer to my family. I love baking, reading, and traveling to new places. This will be my fourth year teaching 1st grade. I can’t wait to meet my new 1st graders and join the Mallard family!

Hey! My name is Megan Leslie and I will be teaching 2nd grade at Monitor Elementary this coming school year! I live in Fayetteville with my two dogs. Open house is Thursday, August 12th! Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 4th grade students can drop by from 1pm-2pm or 5pm-6pm and 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade students can drop by from 2pm-3pm or 6pm-7pm. Parents and enrolled students are invited to attend. We look forward to seeing our mallards! 🦆

Lydia Scates started her teaching career in the Bentonville school
district, but most recently she taught at Lee Elementary in Springdale.
She has been married to her husband, Cory, for 29 years and together they have a daughter, Quincee, who is a senior at the University of Arkansas. In Lydia’s free time, you will find her cheering for the hogs at Razorback games, lounging on the beach, traveling with her daughter, or enjoying time at home. She is looking forward to getting to know her new Mallard family
and building relationships with students!

Hey Mallards! My name is Brenna Harmon. I have been married to my husband, Chris, for 5 years. We have a two year old son and a little girl on the way! I worked at Monitor last year and I loved every minute of it. Monitor is such a special place and truly is a family with wonderful leaders, caring staff, and terrific students! I'm so excited to meet my 4th graders and have an amazing school year!

Hi Mallard Family! My name is Camryn Booth, and I just graduated with my Master’s from the University of Arkansas. Mr. Chuck Sealy was recognized today as our Volunteer of the Year! Through our partnership with First Church Springdale, Mr. Chuck delivers snack packs to each of our students every week. Mr. Chuck always shows up with a smile on his face and students are always so excited to see him. A big THANK YOU to Mr. Chuck for his dedication to our students and school! 🍎
This year we named two classified employees of the year, both named Melissa! Congratulations to both Melissa Hummel and Melissa Yowell!
Melissa Hummel was recognized by our staff for wearing many hats and always going above and beyond. Melissa helps run our mallard university after school program, our school food pantry, and is always willing to pitch in and help wherever she is needed! One staff member said Melissa is "always willing to humbly serve others and is incredibly hard working."
Melissa Yowell was praised by our staff for always going above and beyond with a smile on her face! Melissa is our building technology manager and is always eager to help with any issue that comes up. One staff member said "our school is better because of her!"

Congratulations to our teacher of the year, Mr. Dustin James! Mr. James is one of our special education teachers and was selected by his peers for many reasons. His peers say that Mr. James "goes above and beyond to create a safe and fun learning environment for his students."
