Allie Shanks was crowned Miss Arkansas Teen USA 2022 at ArcBest Corporation Performing Arts Center, Fort Smith on Sun, April 10, 2022. Allie was also awarded overall interview and evening gown awards.
Allie is a current sophomore at Springdale Har-Ber High, where she is a member of student council, National Honor Society, DECA, Sophomore Class Council, and Wildcat Yearbook Social Life Editor. She is also an American Heart Association Sweetheart, UNOS Ambassador, and volunteer for Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Association and Give Organs, Give Life.
Allie will promote her personal platform, “Heart Yourself”, which expresses the importance of taking care of your overall well being, with a focus on heart health across the state during her reign.
Allie Shanks will be an official delegate at the 40th Miss Teen USA 2022 pageant where Florida’s Breanna Myles Miss Teen USA 2021 will crown her successor. Date and location to be announced. Allie is the daughter of Stephen and Counts Shanks and sister to Counts Elizabeth (12th grader at Har-Ber High) and Stephen Jr. (6th grader at Hellstern Middle School).

Congratulations to the Har-Ber High School Choir for being named, "Best in Class" at the 2022 ArkCDA State Festival. We are proud of you! Go CATS!


FFA State contests were held today at the University of Arkansas. The Har-Ber Vet Team, consisting of Ellie Benson, Izzy Sedrick, Megan Sanders, and Lexi Robbins, won first place.
The Har-Ber Poultry Team, consisting of Race Tillery, Christina Sauve, Presley Shelton, and Jon David Cousins) won first place.
We are proud that two state winning teams are from Har-Ber High School. Both of these teams will compete at the national competition. We are proud of these students and our AG program. GO CATS!!

An informational meeting for a Spring Break 2023 trip to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland will take place tonight, April 7th, at 6:30 pm in the Har-Ber High School Seminar room. This group is a combination of students and teachers throughout Northwest Arkansas. Congratulations to the Har-Ber FCCLA Team. They have earned the opportunity to compete at Nationals this summer.
Alyssa Hackney and Kylie Rogers earned a GOLD medal in their event, Food Innovations.
Tabitha Nichols earned GOLD in her event...Job Interview.
Elle Reed earned a SILVER medal (there were no gold medals awarded in her event) for her research and portfolio presentation on being a Family and Consumer Science educator. She was also awarded a prestigious FCCLA Leadership Scholarship and signed a letter of intent to pursue a degree in Family and Consumer Science education at the University of Central Arkansas!
Lacy Stephens, Maria Cloud and Presley Kaiser-Shelton served as event evaluators for various events at the state competition. We are thankful for their wisdom and willingness to spend the day providing constructive feedback to the students in their event categories.
We are proud of our FCCLA team. Go Cats!

Congratulations to the Har-Ber Speech and Debate teams. They participated in the recent state competition. They did an incredible job!
Natalia Ruiz and Tommie Carnahan won the State Championship for Duo Interpretation.
Knox Graham won the State Championship for Extemporaneous Speaking and also was state runner up in Congressional Debate.
Nora Shitandi won the State Championship in Varsity IPDA debate
Advancing and placing were:
Chris Krumweide received 2nd place Novice Public Forum Speaker
Megan Lucas received 5th place in Impromptu Speaking and Prose Interpretation.
Junior Jagger Thompson advanced to the Semi-finals round of Prose Interpretation.
